I speak, and if there are any grammatical errors or vocabulary mistakes, I get explanations right away, and I can check my answers on the spot. It's free talk, but I can immediately review and practice what I've learned! The other day, I was taught an expression that I liked, and when I told them I liked it, they taught me the same expression but with different nouns and verbs. After that, I started to get a sense of how to construct that sentence structure myself, so I'd like to be taught the same expression every time I find one I like 😀

25 minutes was just right! And I love that she takes notes for me — so helpful.

I'm taking free talk lessons! It's a textbook-less method, but I think the teacher is great at teaching grammar and nuances even through free talk! The teacher asks questions (like "How have you been lately?" or questions tailored to the message I send when booking), and once I've finished speaking, they create example sentences to explain any awkward or incorrect words, or suggest better ways to say things, which makes me feel like I'm learning each topic in more depth! This school recommends choosing one main teacher, but each teacher has their own strengths and teaching styles, and I think they're all good in their own way! Even with the same free talk format, each teacher has their own strengths, and even with the same topic, the learning experience is completely different! You can also refer to reviews, but if a teacher's strengths match what you want to learn, I think it's worth trying a lesson!
